Sunny skies, warming trend with record spring heat ahead for Utah weather temperatures
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Thursday or Friday night, Utah!
So far this week, every day has been warmer than the last and this trend will continue. For Thursday, daytime highs will be around 5 to 10 degrees warmer in most places than Wednesday.
Skies will continue to be mostly sunny to partly cloudy. The warming trend will also be felt in our nocturnal troughs. Friday will look a lot more like early May across Beehive State. That’s because Salt Lake City will hit the mid-70s while St. George will be firmly in the mid-80s!
The warm-up won’t stop there – for the coming weekend, we’ll be in record-breaking hot territory. Indeed, the mid to upper 70s are likely along the Wasatch front while St. George will be in the mid to upper 80s! The projected high at SLC on Saturday is 80 with a record 78, while we expect 88 at St. George with a record 85.
By the end of the weekend we will see more clouds as the high starts to break down a bit. However, with the southerly flow continuing, the daytime highs will remain in record territory with highs very close to what we will experience on Saturday.
Bigger changes are coming Monday as upper level low pressure begins to approach. For the first half of next week, we will see temperatures drop back down to near seasonal averages as we bring back the possibility of wet weather. It’s not a slam dunk that we’ll see wet weather materialize, but there’s reason to be cautiously optimistic. We’ll keep you posted on the changing outlook as we get closer!
At the end of the line ? Today will feel more like the middle of spring as temperatures continue to rise even higher!
