Mid-week warming temperatures with rains and storms ahead in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Wednesday, Utah!

We have drier conditions setting in for Wednesday and slightly above average temperatures. High pressure will set in for a beautiful day across the state with mostly sunny skies. Daytime highs will climb into the upper 50s and mid to upper 60s along the Wasatch Front, with a range of 60s and 70s across central Utah. The hottest locations will still be in southern Utah with low temperatures expected in St. George and near Lake Powell.

On Wednesday, we are sandwiched between systems. This high pressure will not linger as we face change heading into Thursday. A more powerful system appears to be on track to enter the state Thursday night through Friday. There is a chance that this storm could even have impacts on the first part of our weekend.

This system gives the entire state a chance for wet weather and will help temperatures drop below average for several days. We are still several days away, so as we get closer we will be able to determine the timing and amounts of precipitation for later in the week. Stay tuned!

At the end of the line ? Drier conditions with more sunshine and slightly above normal temperatures for this time of year.
